Tufts Opera Student Performance

The majority of Tufts Opera members are undergraduates from Tufts University.  The Program for Tuesday, December 3 at 7 p.m. will consist of opera scenes selected from the operas Marriage of Figaro, Cosi Fan Tutte, Magic Flute and Don Giovanni by Mozart, Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck, Game of Chance by Samuel Barab, Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss, La Serva Padrona by Pergolesi and Candide by Bernstein.

Tufts Opera is stage directed by Carol Mastrodomenico and musically directed by Thomas Stumpf.  Ms. Mastrodomenico has directed the ensemble for over 10 years and Mr. Stumpf has been with the ensemble for two years.  Some of the operas the ensemble has performed in past years are: the world premiere of Vartan Aghababian's Knave of Hearts, Slow Dusk, Three Penny Opera, Our Town, Dido and Aeneas, Old Maid and the Thief, Gallantry, Riders to the Sea, and Amelia Goes to the Ball.

This program is free and open to the public.  Coffee and cookies will be available at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin promptly at 7 p.m.

This program is presented by the Education Committee of the Winchester Seniors Association and is supported by a grant from the John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
