Today is Tuesday, Dec. 20. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Sunny and cold: Temperatures will continue to hover around the freezing mark today. According to the National Weather Service, the high Tuesday is expected to be 37 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day. Temperatures will drop to 23 degrees by Tuesday night.
  2. Local team raises money for diabetes: On December 4, during a ceremony at the Reebok Headquarters in Canton. The team, which is comprised of friends and family of Fourth Grader Jackson, raised the most money of any family team in New England for the Boston Walk to Cure Type-1 Diabetes. The team raised more than $27,000 for Type-1 research. Jackson was diagnosed with Type-1 when he was 3-years-old.
  3. School Choice: parents have until Dec. 22 to submit their choice regarding
  4. Winter Parking: The winter parking ban is an effect. Vehicles parked on the street between 1 and 7 a.m. are subject to fines. Any vehicles parked on the street during a snow emergency may be fined and towed.
  5. Flu shot: The Winchester Board of Health has flu vaccine; flu shots and FluMist. Supplies are limited. If interested, please contact Kathy Whittaker, Public Health Nurse at 781-721-7121 to arrange for an appointment.
