Today is Wednesday, Dec. 21. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Rain: Just hold on for a few more days and there may be a White Christmas, unfortunately today it’s going to be rain. According to the National Weather Service, the high Wednesday is expected to be 50 degrees. It should be mostly cloudy in the morning and by 1 p.m. the rain will move in. The rain will move out of the area by late Wednesday night as temperatures begin to warm up for Thursday.
  2. Coats for Kids: is participating in "Coast for Kids.” They are looking for all sizes from Pre-K through adult large. Hammond asks that you drop off all coats at their office, 552 Main Street, across from Starbucks. The last day to drop off coats is Jan. 8.
  3. School Choice: parents have until Dec. 22 to submit their choice regarding
  4. Local team raises money for diabetes: On December 4, during a ceremony at the Reebok Headquarters in Canton. The team, which is comprised of friends and family of Fourth Grader Jackson, raised the most money of any family team in New England for the Boston Walk to Cure Type-1 Diabetes. The team raised more than $27,000 for Type-1 research. Jackson was diagnosed with Type-1 when he was 3-years-old.
  5. Winter Parking: The winter parking ban is an effect. Vehicles parked on the street between 1 and 7 a.m. are subject to fines. Any vehicles parked on the street during a snow emergency may be fined and towed.
