Trick-or-Treating in Winchester is Safe

While there are still some downed trees and wires, it should be safe for children to go trick-or-treating, as long as they're accompanied by a parent.

The sun is quickly setting and that means it's time to start trick-or-treating.

Even though the snowstorm has left the town of Winchester and the have said that it's OK for children to go trick-or-treating Monday night.

The town urges parents to accompany their children as they go trick-or-treating tonight as there are still a number of tree limbs and power lines that remain on the ground.

Public roads are safe for travel, but there are many private properties that still have live electrical cables on the ground. Residents with hazardous conditions on their property are asked to take steps to isolate those areas from visitors.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and use extreme caution. Some street lighting is out and wet leaves have created slippery conditions.
