Weekend Planner: Bust a Move, an Evening in Paris and Some Acappella

Why Go:  The fundraiser – – will take place on Friday, Nov. 4 at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. People can RSVP by sending a check for $40 made out to Bust a Move for Breast Cancer and mail it to Lisa Basile at 40 Mayflower Road, Winchester, MA 01890. All proceeds from the event go to the breast care center.

Where/when: , Saturday, Nov. 5, 10:30 a.m.

Why go: The Family Action Network of Winchester is offering their Annual Preschool Fair - a parent-to-parent event to learn about other parents’ experiences at area preschools. Contact parentevents@fanwinchester.org for more information.

Pricing: This event is free for FAN members; $10 for non-members..

Where/When: ; Saturday, Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Winchester High School Music Department presents autumn Acappellafest 2011. WHS Octets will sing a selection of their own arrangements and be joined by special guest college groups the Dear Abbeys from Boston College, the Jackson Jills of Tufts, as well as the WHS Chamber Singers. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Bookends in Winchester Center. The Octets will also be selling their latest CD (which is also available at Bookends). Children 12 and under should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Why go: An all J.S. Bach program featuring performances by Roy Sansom and Heloise Degrugiller, recorders; Dan Ryan, cello & keyboard; and the Jenks Recorder Ensemble. For information, call 781-721-2950 or visit www.winchestermusic.org

Where/when: , Saturday, Nov. 5, 6:30 p.m.

Why go: The Fundraising Committee is planning for “An Evening in Paris” on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to raise money for Sunday hours. The evening includes wine-tasting from the wine merchants in town, hors d’oeuvres and music by It don’t Mean a Thing. The special auction item with be a hosted stay - for one or two couples - in a home just outside Paris. Call the library at 781 721-7177 to reserve your tickets.
