Weekend Planner: Halloween Events and the Dark Side of the Moon

Take a look at what's going on in and around Winchester this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. Every Thursday we’ll be giving you a few suggestions of things to do this weekend. And be sure to let us know of any other events in the area that you might be attending.

Where/When: ; Saturday, Oct. 29; 10 a.m.

Why Go: The Family Action Network, Winchester Recreation and the Town of Winchester will be hosting their annual town-wide Halloween celebration. First, is the Horribles Costume Parade around the Town Common at 10am. After the parade, families can visit participating downtown businesses for trick-or-treating. Following trick-or-treating, holiday revelers can head over to the Town Hall Auditorium for a Halloween Party that is free and open for all to enjoy.

Where/when: , Friday, Oct. 28, 9 p.m.

Why go: Comprising eight accomplished Boston music scene veterans, The Underground the faculty band will perform  Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album set to “The Wizard of Oz” film live on stage. This event sold out last year, so purchasing tickets early is highly encouraged!

Pricing: $10.

Where/When: 101 Montvale Ave., Stoneham; Saturday, Oct. 29, noon to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Come to work off all the candy and treats a few days in advance of Halloween. The Stoneham Figure Skating Club will host a pre-Halloween skate on Saturday. Bring your skates, in costume if you'd like, for a spin around the Stoneham Arena Rink. There will be treats for the younger skaters at the end of the session. Please note, rental skates will not be available at this session

Pricing: $5.

Where/when: ;Saturday, Oct. 29, 3 p.m.

Why go: There will be trick or treating, a hay maze, some snacks, games and a bon fire.

Pricing: Free

Where/when: , Saturday, Oct. 29, 8 p.m.

Why go: The band URO will be unplugged. This band, featuring 10 vocalists brings the often heard, but rarely performed, crown jewels of classic rock to vivid life. Serving up the classics of Queen, David Bowie, The Who, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, will be performed by the  Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra. There are six shows - every Saturday night from Oct. 15 - Nov. 19.
