And now, according to the North County Times, Homsey has reached Escondido, California.

Homsey, 27, began his journey on May 10 from Winchester.

According to the Times, he has worn out eight pairs of tennis shoes, and weathered rain, heat and cold and the occasional angry dog along the way. But emails, text messages and comments on his Facebook page from people with MS and others have inspired him during his trek.

"It makes me feel good that every day someone is checking up on me and that you've touched someone to the point where they wake up in the morning and they are thinking, 'I got to make sure he's alright,'" Homsey told the North County News.

To date, Homsey has raised $9,000.
