Community To Honor Glen Doherty During Funeral Procession

Winchester residents are encouraged to line the procession route Wednesday to honor Glen Doherty.

The community is asked to support a family who will lay a son and brother to rest Wednesday.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Glen Doherty. He is truly an American Hero. He makes me proud to say I'm from Winchester. He died doing a job that he truly loved. May he R.I.P.

The Funeral Procession is for family only. People are encouraged to line the streets in support of Glen and his family. Services are open to the public: Family and friends are invited to gather in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, on Tues., Sept. 18 from 3-7PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Wed., Sept. 19 at 11AM in St. Eulalia Church. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations in Glen's memory may be made to the SEAL foundation http://www.navysealfoundation.org or to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation http://www.specialops.org.

I,too am proud to be from Winchester. For the right reason. My sincere condolences to all who loved Glen Doherty.

Military Friends Foundation, a nonprofit serving MA families of Fallen service members, has donated hand-held American Flags for members of the community to hold along the procession route. Flags can be picked up at the Westside Fire Station at 45 Lockland Street, Winchester. www.militaryfriends.org
