ACLU Petitions Court to Dismiss Dookhan Cases

The American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts has petitioned the Supreme Judicial Court to dismiss more than 40,000 criminal cases handled by Annie Dookhan, the chemist who falsified test results at the William A. Hinton State Laboratory Institute in Jamaica Plain, according to Boston.com.

The state ACLU also asked that prosecutors be prohibited from seeking tougher penalties for those convicted of crimes connected to the scandal.
