Boat Motor Stolen from a Winchester Property

At 7:29 p.m. Aug. 8, a Dartmouth Street woman visited the police station to report a larceny, according to a police report. While her family was away from Aug. 2-7, an unknown person stole a Minn Kota electric trolling motor from a small boat that was attached to her dock at the rear of the residence, according to the report. The trolling motor's estimated value was $200, the report adds.

Aug. 8

11:40 a.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation in the area of Park and Main Streets, according to a police report. A 63-year-old Dorchester woman was expected to be cited for having an expired registration sticker, and the vehicle was towed, according to the report.

12:45 p.m.: Police and fire called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Washington and Mt. Vernon Streets and Skillings Road, according to a police report. No tows or transports reported.

5:39 p.m.: Police called to Florence Street for a report of a past vandalism to a vehicle, according to a police report. Sometime overnight, a Winchester man's 2006 Ford Explorer was keyed while parked in front of his home, according to the report. The man allegedly heard kids screaming around midnight but he did not observe anything unusual at the time, the report adds.
