Burlington Police Arrest Winchester Man on Drug Conspiracy Charge

Burlington Police got a substantial shipment of drugs off the streets this week and arrested two suspects, including a Winchester man, for conspiracy to violate drug laws. 

According to a press statement posted onto Burlington Police Department's Facebook page, the Burlington Police Department Drug Unit Seized approximately 12 pounds of marijuana on Thursday. The marijuana had been mailed from California to Tanorama at 264 Cambridge St., Burlington.

Police executed a search warrant when two packages of marijuana were delivered to the business. The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be over $60,000.

Police charged the owner, Julia Symonds, 22, of Boston, on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug, (Marijuana) and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Laws.

Police also arrested Symonds brother, John Symonds, 25, of Winchester, who was charged with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. 

Both subjects posted bail and will be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday, March 4. This investigation is continuing in both Massachusetts and California, the release states.

Burlington Police were assisted in the investigation by U. S. Postal Inspectors from California and Massachusetts.
