Cambridge police recently arrested a Boston man with connections to a theft in Winchester, according to the Winchester police website.

At 2:53 p.m. July 26, Cambridge police responded to Longfellow Bridge to assist State Police during an investigation into an altercation, according to a Cambridge police log. Vincent Ghetti, 51, of 17 Court St., Boston, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $250, according to the log.

Ghetti allegedly threatened to stab a jogger while they were traveling near the bridge, according to the log. The jogger contacted a State Police Trooper and additional units were called to the scene, the log adds.

Officers checked Ghetti for weapons and allegedly found an iPad underneath his shirt, as well as a bag with several pieces of jewelry in his pants pocket, according to the log. Ghetti reportedly consented to a search of the iPad, and Ghetti could not identify any of the photos or contacts found on the device so he was placed under arrest, the log adds.

Earlier that same day, Ghetti allegedly stole the items from a home in Winchester, according to the log.

The jogger declined to press any charges against Ghetti, according to the log.

Ghetti is being charged by Winchester police for breaking and entering and larceny, reads the Winchester police website.
