Driver Backs Up Over Second Car on Highland Avenue

Dec. 9

7:30 a.m.: A car hit the curb, blew a tire and hit a fire pull box, a phone pole and a stone wall on Main Street near Highland Avenue.

11:30 a.m.: A car drove through the intersection of Cabot Street and Warren Street taking a right hand turn and crashed into a car driving straight through the intersection. The driver was cited for failure to yield.

10:01 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious incident on Bigelow Avenue. The homeowner showed police footprints in the snow that went all the way around the house. The home alarm was not activated, but the homeowner said that this was a strange occurrence.

Dec. 10

9:43 a.m.:  A car went in reverse on Highland Avenue to get back onto Mount Pleasant Street. That vehicle failed to stop and accelerated backwards at a high rate of speed and crashed into a car behind them. The car traveling in reverse ended up on top of the car behind them. No injuries were reported.  

12:44 p.m.: A car in the Vinson Owens school struck a road sign. The car sustained a fair bit of damage, but there were no injuries reported.
