Swastika Graffiti Found Twice in One Day in Winchester
At 7:43 a.m. June 16, Winchester police were called to Frannie's Restaurant on Swanton Street on a report of vandalism, according to a police report. The restaurant owner told police that a yellow Boston Herald newspaper stand had been tipped over, several small American flags were broken and some were stolen and a swastika was drawn on the front window of the restaurant, according to the report.

In the report, police noted a similar incident earlier that morning, as a swastika was drawn on a car window on Marion Street, which is located near Swanton Street.
June 13

6 p.m.: Police called to Berkshire Drive for a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. No tows or transports reported.

June 14

7:50 a.m.: Police called to the intersection of Cabot and Warren Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. No tows or transports reported.

9:14 p.m.: Police responded to Sussex Road for animal-related complaint, according to a police report. At around 7:30 p.m., a child was petting an unleashed dog, owned by a Natick woman, when the dog suddenly bit the upper lip of the child at Leonard Field on Washington Street, according to the report. Police observed the 5-year-old boy's inner upper lip and discovered there was a laceration, according to the report. The boy reportedly experienced significant bleeding, but those tending to him at the field were able to stop it and he was later checked out by a family friend who also was a doctor. Police initially could not get ahold of the Natick woman, but after receiving assistance from Natick police, she contact Winchester police, according to the report. She told police that she would fax over the dog's most recent immunization and shots documentation, the report notes.

June 15

8:24 p.m.: Police responded to Grove Street for a report of a larceny of lawn furniture, according to a police report. A woman claims someone stole her small white cast iron lawn chair that has flowers all connected to form the shape of the chair, according to the report. Despite having video cameras, motion lights and a security system, the thief was not detected by any of them, according to the report. 

June 16

11:16 a.m.: Police responded to Forest Street for a report of minor vandalism, according to a police report. The homeowner found on the sidewalk a red "No Mega CVS" yard sign broken in half, according to the report.

June 17

5:10 p.m.: Police called to Wildwood Street on a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. No tows or transports reported.

June 18

No incidents to report.

June 19

8 a.m. Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle in town, but a woman driving the SUV was able to evade police, according to a police report. However, police were able to get a description of the driver and information on the vehicle, and police stated in the report that they would be issuing citations to a 53-year-old Newton woman for failing to stop for a red light, failing to stop for police, failing to stay in marked lanes, speeding in a school zone and operating a vehicle so as to danger. Charges of malicious destruction of property (lawn) may be pending contingent on speaking with the owners, according to the report.
