Lucia's Invites First Responders to Attend Cooking Class for Free

In an effort to recognize their hard work and heroism displayed during the Boston Marathon tragedy, Lucia Ristorante is inviting first responders to attend a free cooking class Wednesday night, according to an announcement by the restaurant.

"In honor of the amazing diligence, hard work and heroism displayed this past week by all first responders, Lucia is showing their gratitude by inviting all first responders to attend the cooking class free of charge," reads the announcement. "Interested parties just need to call ahead and reserve a spot, mentioning involvement in the services."

Lucia's third installment of “Cooking Classes with Chef Pino and Donato” will focus on seafood preparation, according to the announcement. Some topics that will be covered include breaking down a whole fish (focusing on Branzino Italian sea bass and salmon) and grilling, sautéing and baking techniques, the announcement adds.

The class is slated for 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at in the downstairs kitchen at Lucia Ristorante Winchester, 13 Mt. Vernon St., Winchester.

The class, which is open to the public, costs for $65 ($50 plus $15 for materials) for non-first responders. Students can sign up and pay at host station before class date or pay by credit card by phone, reads the announcement.
