Man Charged with OUI and More in Police Logs Dec. 16 to Dec. 18

Dec. 16

 

6:15 a.m.: A car tried to pass a plow truck on the right side on Main Street and Cross Street. The car sustained major damage to the right side while the truck had no noticeable damage. There were no injuries reported.

1:36 p.m.: A car hit a patch of ice on Myopia Road and slid into a rock wall. The cause of the accident was the combination of the curve in the road and the ice. It was determined that speeding was not a factor in this accident. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

2:30 p.m.: A car backed out of their spot on Aberjona Drive and collided with a car that was driving straight towards Ginn Field.

 

2:47 p.m.: A black SUV cut a car off while turning on to Washington Street. The driver of the car hit the breaks and was rear ended by a car behind them. The driver and their son were transported to Winchester Hospital and their car was towed from the scene. The operator of the second car claimed that they were distracted by their GPS.

 

Dec. 18

 

4:25 p.m.: A car attempted to pull out of a parking spot and sideswiped another car which was parked near Waterfield Road.

 

4:30 p.m.: A car rear ended another on Bacon Street.

 

5:38 p.m.: Officers charged Michael Giambo of 108 Ridge Street, Winchester with a hit and run in Arlington and an OUI. The officer thought the driver was acting odd and suspected something was off with the driver because he asked the driver to keep his hands out of his pockets about 10 times, and smelled alcohol on the driver. The officer determined that the driver was intoxicated. The officer searched Giambo’s pockets and found two Clonazapam wrapped in bubble wrap.

 

6:40 p.m.: A vehicle was headed west on Cross Street and approached the intersection on Forest Street. As they approached the intersection, they collided head on with a car turning on to Forest Street.
