Police: Car Slams into MBTA Bus in Winchester

At 4 p.m. Aug.  2, Winchester police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Cambridge and Wildwood Streets, according to a police report. A 2006 Lexus reportedly rear-ended a MBTA bus stopped at a bus stop, suffering heavy front-end damage. Transit police and a transit police supervisor also responded, the report adds. The Lexus was towed from the scene, but the MBTA bus sustained no damage in the crash, according to the report. The driver of the Lexus was given a verbal warning for traveling too closely to the bus, the report adds.

12:54 p.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manchester Road and Mystic Valley Parkway because the driver allegedly had an expired registration sticker, according to a police report. A 53-year-old Medford woman was cited for allowing an unregistered vehicle on the roadway, and police allowed her to arrange for a private tow, the report adds.

Aug. 1

5:16 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a larceny, according to a police report. The man reported that his son rode his bicycle to the swim and tennis club on Johnson Road July 31 and later got a ride home from his father, leaving the bike there overnight, according to the report. The stolen bicycle, valued at $400, was described as a black BMX with red handlebars and a yellow scratch on it, the report adds.
