Police Log: Bikes Stolen and Phone Scams

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 13, 1:07 p.m. - A Winslow Road resident had his email account hacked. The person sent an email to the man's accountant and had him wire $12,900 to another account. The Winchester resident contacted his accountant and had him return the money.

4:17 p.m. - A Mayflower Road resident had her kitchen window cracked. The Winchester Police officer didn't find anything that could have caused the damage.

6:33 p.m. - A girl's bike was found along Ridge Street.

Thursday, July 14, 2:05 p.m. - A man - Allen Andre - contacted an Edward Drive resident and informed him that he won $2.5 million. But in order to get the money, the Winchester man needed to wire Andre money. Over the course of the next week the man wired nearly $10,000 to Allen Andre.

5:58 p.m. - An orange Tony Hawk stunt bicycle was located in the woods along the Fernway and Cambridge Street.

7:25 p.m. - A raccoon was lying in front of a house on Cox Road and looked sickly. When Winchester Police approached the animal it took steps and fell down. The officer shot the animal and the Cox Road resident took care of the remains.

Saturday, July 16, 1 p.m. - A Bacon Street resident went to Glenn Green Road for a gathering. The woman informed police that her purse was stolen at the party.

8:56 p.m. - An Arbor Lane resident visited a friend along Wendell Street. When the man returned to his car, his Kona hiking bag was stolen.

Monday, July 18, 12:15 p.m. - A Winchester boy had parked his bike at the Winchester Boat Club and when he returned it was stolen. The bike is a medium-sized mountain black bike and is valued at $300.

Tuesday, July 19, 8:25 a.m. - A Baldwin Street resident had her motor vehicle broken into. The only item stolen was the woman's "Guess" purse. All her bank cards were taken, along with $100 worth of cash.

12:41 p.m. - Winchester Police were called to Ciampa Salon where their rear window was cracked. No item was found that caused the damage.

10:55 p.m. - A Clematis Road boy parked his bike in front of the CVS along Main street on Tuesday night. When he came out of the store his red Schwinn multi-speed bike was gone.
