Police Log: Break-ins and Theft Continue Around Town

This is an excerpt of the Winchester Police Log from Monday, July 26 through Wednesday, July 28

July 26, 6:08 a.m. – Winchester Police were called to Main Street where a driver claimed that someone tried to steal his car. He told police that the doors were unlocked. While the thief didn't steal anything, it was apparent he tried to hotwire the car, as the wires under the dashboard were fiddled with.

July 27, 12:28 p.m. – Police arrived at Church Street, where an employee of one of the businesses said her ex-husband had just called her and threatened to kill her. The woman explained to police that she has a restraining order against him because he had recently broken into her home. He broke into her home on another occasion and beat her up.

Both the Winchester and Woburn police departments were on the lookout for her ex-husband. The Woburn PD found and arrested the man, Glen Nelson, at Baldwin Park in Woburn. He was then transferred back to Winchester where he was booked for violating the restraining order and threatening to kill the woman.
