Police Log: Break-ins Beginning to Decrease Around Town

This is an excerpt of the Winchester Police Log from Monday, September 13 through Wednesday, September 15.

It's been a week now and the break-in surge that has plagued Winchester over the last few months seems to be dying down.

So far, it's been a quiet week. The previous two weeks saw an escalation in the crimes with two cars stolen and three stores either vandalized or broken into. But this week has been pretty quiet in terms of break-ins. There was only one reported incident since last Friday, where a man told police his tools were stolen from his car.

But while that was reported on Friday, his tools were stolen last Tuesday or Wednesday. So, in the past week there have been no motor vehicle break-ins reported.
