Police Log: Car Crashes into Stone Wall

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Friday, May 13 to Monday, May 23.

Saturday, May 14, 12: 40 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident informed police that someone was illegally using his debit card. The man said that someone made 18 withdrawals of his card worth $25 each from ccbilleu.com, which is similar to Pay Pal.

The man needs a police report in order to get a refund from the bank.

Tuesday, May 17, 1:34 p.m. – A Wainwright resident received a call from a man who told the woman that she would receive a new Medicare card in the mail. The man then asked for the woman’s bank account information, which, at the point she hung up the phone.

She told the Winchester Police and a Medicare Representative about the scam.

Wednesday, May 18, 7:59 a.m. – A Lawson Road resident had four Redmax chainsaws stolen from his car, valued at $1,600.

Friday, May 20, 3:40 p.m. – Sachem Road residents had both of their unlocked cars broken into. Some loose change, a black leather wallet and several credit cards were taken.

Saturday, May 21, 10:59 a.m. – While parked in the Mahoney’s parking lot, a Newton man reported that someone had hit his truck and drove off.

Sunday, May 22, 3:16 a.m. – A Winchester resident was driving his car along Everett Avenue when he looked down at his center console. When the man looked up he had crossed the center-line and crashed into a stone wall.

The driver was uninjured, but the stone wall did suffer some damage.
