Police Log: Damaged Cars and Loose Ammunition

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Friday, April 15 to Tuesday, April 19.

Friday, April 15, 6:52 p.m. – An Andover resident had parked her car along Mount Vernon Street, across the street from the . The car was parked in front of a no parking sign and the fire trucks are unable to back up if a car is parked in that area.

The were called to tow the vehicle.

Saturday, April 16, 2:27 a.m. – While a Squire Road resident drove along Thornberry Road, someone threw a rock at the vehicle. The driver told police he though he saw a male in his 20s and cargo shorts. The police were unable to locate anyone in the area.

The car had its windshield and side mirror damaged by the rock.

10:01 a.m. – A Webster Street resident brought a box of World War II ammunition to the police station for safe-keeping. The woman said that it probably came from her late husband’s grandfather.

Sunday, April 17, 8:52 a.m. – The Winchester Police were called to Swanton Street where a man said that on Friday night someone smashed the rear tailgate window of his vehicle.

Monday, April 18, 2:53 p.m. – Winchester Police were called to to put down a sick raccoon.

3:50 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident had his unlocked motor vehicle broken into Sunday night. The only thing stolen was a spare set of keys to the car. The officer suggested the man change the locks on his car.
