Police Log: Home Broken Into and Resident Arrested

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 5, 12:02 p.m. – While attending to a patient, a Winchester Hospital employee left the exam room momentarily. When she returned, the patient, Barbara Forester of Wilmington, allegedly stole her wallet.

The wallet contained $60 cash and some credit cards. Winchester Police called Forester into the station, at which time she returned the money, but told police she threw the wallet away. Police charged the woman with larceny of under $250.

Friday, Jan. 6, 5:32 p.m. – Upon returning home from work on Friday afternoon, a Water Street couple told police that their home had been broken into.

According to police, the suspect entered the home by throwing a rock through a side door. Taken from the home were some laptops, a power drill, a watch and some jewelry.

Saturday, Jan. 7, 8:36 p.m. – Winchester resident, James Hemenway, 70, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.
