Police Log: Home Broken Into, Wild Fox and Scooter Accident

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Friday, April 29 to Monday, May 9.

Sunday, May 1, 10:48 p.m. – A Stoneham resident, who parked along Squire Road, had her car towed for having her registration revoked.

Monday, May 2, 9:42 a.m. – A Winchester woman reported to police that her former wife physically attacked her.

Tuesday, May 3, 8:04 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident told police she was letting a former boyfriend live with her after he was kicked out of his apartment. She decided she no longer wanted him staying there and asked him to leave. He began to yell at her, pushed her and took her phone so she couldn’t call the police. The woman will change her locks.

12:54 p.m. – A Grove Place resident called police to her home to take care of a sick fox. The officer shot and killed the animal, which was spinning in circles on the woman’s property.

Wednesday, May 4, 10:40 a.m. – A Fox Hunt Lane resident told police she hired her son’s friend to help do some yard work. Her son said his friend would then hire and pay him for the work he did on the house. The man did some of the work, but when the woman’s son asked his mother to be paid, she told him she paid his friend. The woman’s son went to his friend’s girlfriend’s house and demanded the money. Ever since, his friend has been sending threatening text messages and harassing phone calls to the Fox Lane residents. Police are trying to contact the man.

7:10 p.m. – A Highland Avenue couple called police reporting their home was broken into. They told police they left for work in the morning and when they returned, their house was ransacked.

Taken were two laptop computers, jewelry and some medication. Winchester Police did not find anyone in the area. It is believed the perpetrator kicked open the rear porch door to enter the home.

Thursday, May 5, 9:36 p.m. – Winchester Police were called to Winchester Hospital to recover illegal narcotics from a pateient. The Stoneham man was admitted to the Emergency Room for being under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The hospital staff searched the man and found marijuana.

The officer took the drugs, brought it back to the station and arrested the man on a warrant of apprehension

Friday, May 6, 5:26 p.m. – A Mystic Avenue student had his bike stolen at McCall Middle School.

5:36 p.m. – A Woburn resident was driving his scooter along Cambridge Street when a van, driven by a Dedham man passed him. The car then turned into the gas station, didn’t see the scooter, crashed into it and dragged the Woburn man several feet before coming to a stop.

Two witnesses had conflicting reports – one said the van had his right-hand blinker on and the other said he didn’t.

Sunday, May 8, 5:14 p.m.  – A Winchester resident said that someone keyed their 2007 Mercedes.

7:46 p.m. – A Winchester Hospital employee was punched in the throat by a patient. The employee wanted the incident documented by police.
