Police Log: Illegal Tree Removal and Syringe Confiscated

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, July 9, 12:48 p.m. – A Bacon Street resident informed police that she found a razor scooter on her front lawn.

2:40 p.m. – The Winchester Police responded to the skateboard park at McCall Middle School where the officer observed vulgar graffiti at the park. The Department of Public Works was requested to paint over the graffiti.

2:46 p.m. – A Hillside Avenue resident was using a saw to cut through roots of a tree that had crossed over to his property. The man told police that the roots were doing damage to his wall. The tree is located on his neighbor’s property.

Since this issue is currently in the court system, the officers told the man that he should stop cutting the roots until the civil issue is resolved.

7:55 p.m. – While driving along Mount Vernon Street, a Woburn resident was pulled over. The woman’s license had been suspended and the police found a syringe and a spoon, which they suspected were used for heroin.

The woman’s car was towed.
