Police Log: Jewelry Stolen and Moving Violation

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 15.

Monday, April 11, 2:42 p.m. – pulled a Woburn man over along Cambridge Street for having the wrong plates on his car. The man said that he was picking up his wife and baby at a doctor’s appointment and his other car wouldn’t start, so he switch the plates to this car, which is unregistered.

The officer issued the man a citation.

Tuesday, April 12, 4:17 p.m. – Winchester Police were called to Glen Road where a woman informed the officer that her jewelry was stolen. The woman said that a number of contractors have been in and out of her home over the last few weeks.

Missing are a Nile tennis bracelet ($11,500), a Tiffany’s diamond and sapphire pair of earrings (1,677.50), a Tiffany’s diamond pendant ($4,278), a pair of Tiffany’s earrings ($3,570).

4:55 p.m. – A Mount Vernon Street resident was playing fetch with his dog by the Parkhurst School. He was using his lacrosse stick and he flung the ball too far and it broke a window. The man reported it so that no one would get hurt.

Thursday, April 14, 9:42 a.m. – A Cambridge Street resident called police to report damage done to his property. The man said that movers came to remove items from his neighbor’s house, who had been evicted.

The movers drove on the man’s lawn, with tire tracks stretching 40-feet onto the property.

8:46 p.m.  – A student informed police that an iPod was taken from his backpack. The boy said that he left the bag in the locker room and when he returned, it was missing.
