Police Log: Medford Man Arrested and Telephone Pole Breaks

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Oct. 20, 11:36 p.m. – While driving along Woodside Road, a Lexington woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole. The woman complained of minor chest pain, from the airbag deploying. She told police that she was going the speed limit when the car began to skid and she crashed into the pole, splitting it in half.

Police did not believe she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They let her go after they checked her out.

8:08 p.m. – A Ridge Street man had his passenger-side window smashed. Stolen was a GPS unit and a laptop.

Friday, Oct. 21, 9:44 a.m. – A Thornberry Road resident told police that someone charged $500 to her Visa card at Cabela’s, a men’s outdoor clothing store in Scarborough, Maine.

10:35 a.m. – A Garfield Avenue women told police that a friend of hers in Maine sent an email requesting $1,900 because she was stuck in Europe.

2:58 p.m. – On Thursday night, someone fired orange paintballs on the garage door of a West Chardon resident.

Saturday, Oct. 22, 1:05 p.m. – While parked at Leonard Field, a Bellingham woman observed a Volvo squeeze into a tight parking space, next to her car. While parking, the driver, a Wayland man, scraped her car. The man then tried to back out and hit another car.

When the woman asked the man for his insurance information, he declined on told her to call the police. When the officer arrived, the man told police, “What are bumpers for?” The officer informed him that he will be contacted by the woman’s insurance company.

Sunday, Oct. 23, 10:24 a.m. – Someone removed a six-foot piece of the fence at the Ambrose School.

2:34 p.m.  – An Arlington man had the rear window of his vehicle smashed by a rock, while parked on Laraway Road.

8:01 p.m. – Fabiano Vilaca, 37, 83 Summer Street, Medford was pulled over at Skillings Field and arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
