10:16 p.m. – A Winchester resident has been trying to rent out her summer cottage on Cape Cod using Craigslist.

The woman received an email from a man who lived in London, saying that he would rent the cottage. The resident told him that it would cost $975 to rent and $250 for security.

The man told the woman that he sent the checks, but that it was for $5,000 and if she could mail him the difference. The woman declined and has not heard back since.
