Police Log: Moth Causes Moped Accident

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 28, 8:24 a.m. – A Wendell Street resident had their unlocked car entered Sunday night. Taken were her son’s birth certificate, a GPS, an IPod, and an IPod charger.

12:09 p.m. – A Middlesex Street resident had to bring her father to Winchester Hospital. She gave him his Nook, but when she came back the next day it was missing.

2:13 p.m. – A Mccall Road resident turned right on Cambridge Street and while waiting to make a left onto Everett Avenue a Revere man slammed into his car, pushing it into oncoming traffic where a Stoneham man, driving the other way on Cambridge hit the other car.

The Revere man was treated for neck injuries.

2:30 p.m. – A Woburn man was driving his moped along Highland Avenue when a moth flew in his eye. The man told police this caused him to lose control and crash into a stonewall on Everell Road. The man told police he may have broken his right leg.

Sunday, Nov. 27, 11:38 a.m. – Winchester Police were called to Box and Bow for a larceny. The owner told police that two racks of scarves were taken.

Winchester Police found the scarves at Amari restaurant. The owner said that someone came into his store and said that the two racks were left on the sidewalk, but the store was closed. Amari then brought the racks into their restaurant to hold onto them.
