Police Log: Multiple Cars Broken Into and Stolen Car Found

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Monday, March 21 to Friday, March 25.

Tuesday, March 22, 8:04 a.m. – The Winchester Police were parked along Washington Street because of an accident. The Fire Department was also on the scene.

Once the accident was cleaned up, the Winchester fire truck began backing up and crashed into a police cruiser. The truck received no damage, but the cruiser suffered damage to its bumper and headlight.

8:10 a.m. – The Winchester Police responded to Pepper Hill Drive where a resident said that for of his unlocked vehicles were entered into. The only item reported missing was a pair of Maui Jims sunglasses.

8:15 a.m.  – A Dunster Lane resident informed police that Monday night someone entered two of her unlocked vehicles. A GPS and an IPOD Classic were taken from the vehicles.

10:10 a.m. – A High Street resident had two of his unlocked vehicles that were parked in his driveway broken into. Five dollars in change and six wine bottles were removed from the vehicles.

9:40 a.m. – Another High Street resident had their car broken into. This resident said nothing was missing, but someone went through the glove box.

Wednesday, March 23, 4:20 p.m. – The Winchester Police received a call from the Arlington Police Department that a stolen Mercury Marquis was parked along Central Street. The officer arrived at the location, noticed there was some damage to the rear passenger door and bumper. The car was locked, but everything seemed to still be in tact inside the car.

The officer had a tow truck remove the vehicle.

It was later found out that the owner’s grandson, Timothy Campbell, stole the vehicle. Campbell was arrested.

Thursday, March 24, 3:23 p.m.  – A Watertown resident who had parked along Main Street had her catalytic converted stolen from her vehicle.
