Police Log: Police Respond to Threats and an Attempted BB Gun Shooting

This is an excerpt of the Winchester Police Log from Friday, July 30 through Monday, August 2.

July 30, 3:19 p.m. – Winchester police responded to the Parkview Apartments where the resident of the apartment complained that a woman he's letting live with him threatened him. According to the man, the woman refuses to move to a shelter and when he told her he was going to turn off her cell phone, she threatened to beat him up. The man doesn't want her to get into any trouble, he just wants the threat on record.

July 30, 4:36 p.m. – Winchester police arrived at the Swanton Diner where the owner of the restaurant informed police that one of his employees left for the day and did not pay him the cash she had earned. The employee informed the officer that she had given him her cash and in the parking lot, the owner implied that there were other ways she can pay back the money, and then touched her inappropriately.

Later that day, a manager from the restaurant arrived at the police station to inform police that the employee had not paid the money. Shortly after, the owner called back and said that he had met with his employee and she finally paid him from the day's work.

July 31, 4:56 a.m. ­– Winchester Police responded to the intersection of Pond Street and Brantwood Road where a motor vehicle swerved off the road and slammed into an N-Star utility pole. The driver told police he was driving to the hospital because he was suffering from headaches. He said a dog or some animal jumped in front of his car and he had to move out of the way. He lost control and crashed into the pole. The police did not believe he had been drinking and they just issued him a citation for failing to stay within the marked lines.

August 1, 8:18 p.m. ­– Police responded to Wildwood Street where the driver of a vehicle claimed that someone shot his windshield with a BB gun. The police could not see a mark on the windshield, but the driver swore there was damage to the car. The officer also searched the area and found no suspicious activity.
