Police Log: Possible Bank Robbery Attempt and Illegal Dumping

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 7, 8:48 a.m. – The manager at the Aberjona Nursing Home called police to inform them that a Cambridge Street resident dropped 20 trash bags next to the dumpsters at the nursing home.

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 9:57 a.m. – A North Reading man was arrested while driving along Bacon Street, near Ginn Field. Steven Proulx, 28, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor, failure to appear for a warrant.

3:09 p.m. – The bank president of the Winchester Savings Bank told police that he saw two men sitting outside the Washington Street branch in a gray 2007 Mitsubishi.

The president informed security and once the men spotted them, they drove away. The president told police that the men may have been casing the bank.

The bank was moving to a different location on Thursday and the Winchester Police provided a detail during the move, and were told that there was a possibility of a crime being committed.

Friday, Nov. 11, 6:54 p.m. – A Main Street resident told police that his ex-girlfriend opened up a Capital One account in his name and charged the card $924.

Saturday, Nov. 12, 9:29 p.m. – A Washington Street woman told police that the driver’s side mirror was damaged on her car, while it was parked along Washington Street.

Sunday, Nov. 13, 9:43 p.m. – A Winchester resident illegally parked his Toyota 4-runner along Swanton Street. The vehicle was leaking fluids onto the street and Winchester Police towed the car away.
