This is an excerpt of the Winchester Police Log from Monday, August 23 through Wednesday, August 25.

Monday, August 23, 11:25 a.m. – Winchester Police arrived at Shore Road where someone attempted to break into an office. The manager noticed pry marks around the door frame and at the door knob. It was unclear as to whether or not the person was able to enter the office, and the employees of the company didn't notice anything missing.

4:28 p.m. – Police arrived at Chestnut Street where the owner of a 2002 Volkswagen informed police that her car was broken into sometime over the weekend. The only thing taken from the unlocked car was a $200 Tom Tom GPS system.

4:56 p.m. – The Winchester officer went to the station lobby to take a report of a motor vehicle break-in that took place Sunday night. The woman, whose car was parked along Cross Street and left unlocked, had $25 stolen from it.

Tuesday, August 24, 1:03 p.m. – When police arrived at Myopia Road they saw that a FedEx truck had hit the overheard wires and pulled them down from their poles. The fire department was able to untangle the truck and NStar tied the wires to the tree, while another crew would come back and fix the telephones wires. They would also replace the pole, which was leaning down anyway.
