Police Log: School Damaged and Cars Broken Into

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Monday, April 25 to Friday, April 29.

Monday, April 25, 8 a.m.  – A West Chardon resident had their car broken into sometime over the weekend. Stolen was the woman’s work bag.

10:16 a.m. – Winchester Police were called to the Ambrose School because of a broken window. The Winchester officer said the hole in the window looked to be about the size of a softball. The window was connected to a bottom floor bathroom.

At the scene, the officer found an empty bottle of Sailor Jerry’s Rum, an empty 30-rack of Pabst Blue Ribbon and an empty 30-rack of Miller High Life.

12:13 p.m. – An Edward Drive resident told police that his Garmin GPS and gym bag were stolen out of his vehicle.

3:52 p.m. – Swan Road residents informed police that both of their cars were broken into over the weekend. The woman said that the vehicles were unlocked and taken was a spare key to the Lexus and a Dell laptop.

6:56 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident told police that someone has been throwing eggs and hitting the back of his house. The man said that this is the second time in two weeks someone has thrown eggs off his house.

Tuesday, April 26, 10 a.m. – An Oak Street resident received a phone call recently from someone claiming to be from Collegeboard.com. The person said that he wanted to sign her son up for an SAT class, but it cost $129.

When the woman questioned the man, he hung up. Winchester Police informed the woman that College Board was reportedly hacked into recently and some people’s contact information may have been taken.

Wednesday, Aril 27, 8:41 a.m.  – A Winchester resident who parked in the Swanton Street paring lot had his car damaged. The man, who works at the property, needed to have the parking lot cleared in order to clean it.

He told police that a man left a message on his phone this morning cursing at him for waking him up to move his car.

3:11 p.m. – A woman who parked in the Parkview lot along Swanton Street told police that someone hit her vehicle.

Thursday, April 28, 9:20 a.m. – A Medford man told police that, while his car was parked in the rear parking lot along Swanton Street, it was damaged. The man said that two youths were seen throwing rocks in the area, damaging a number of cars.

11:16 a.m. – A patient at Winchester Hospital has been making harassing phone calls to his family members. The Winchester Police spoke to the man, who said that he’s upset out his family and said he will not do it again.

The officer had the phone removed from the man’s room.

4:40 p.m. – A woman told Winchester Police that, while at a fashion show at the Jenks Center, someone stole her black evening back and a pair of black pants.
