Police Log: Stolen Car and Homes Broken Into

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Friday, Feb. 1 to Friday, Feb. 18.

Friday, Feb. 11, 3:17 p.m. – The Winchester Police were called to Bonnell Motors located along Cambridge Street. The owner of the shop informed the officer that one of his cars – a blue Ford 2010 Escape – was stolen. The owner told the officer that the cars had been moved recently to make room for snow removal, and when the employees did inventory Friday morning they noticed that car was missing. He was going to give the police the video surveillance tapes as soon as possible.

Saturday, Feb. 13, 12:57 a.m. – Michael O’Malley was arrested for domestic assault and destruction of property of $250.

Monday, Feb. 14, 2:39 p.m. – A Winchester resident had issued a restraining order against her husband, but she told police that she thinks he entered the home on Monday when she wasn’t in.

Her computer was turned on and it was on her husband’s profile. The Winchester Police were unable to determine whether or not the man had entered the home. The woman said she will look into purchasing video surveillance and will change the locks on her home.

3:25 p.m. – Winchester Police were called to Park Street by the Quill Rotary because a car was parked in such a way that other vehicles could not get by. Upon inspecting the car’s information, the officer noticed that the car was uninsured and unregistered. The Watertown woman whose car it was also had a suspended license.

The police towed the vehicle and issued the woman a citation.

Tuesday, Feb. 15, 3:11 p.m. – The owner of Bonnell Ford informed Winchester Police that a dealer plate is missing from one of his vehicles. He noticed it on Monday, and after trying to locate decided that it was either missing or stolen.

Thursday, Feb. 17, 7:04 a.m. – Winchester police arrived at Holton Street to investigate a breaking and entering. The owner of the property informed the officer that the office trailer next to the property was broken into. A sliding window was broken on the trail, which the officer believed was smashed with a cinder block. Taken from the office was an LCD TV as well as a Toshiba laptop.

7:13 p.m. – While on patrol along Cambridge Street, an officer noticed a vehicle that had a broken brake light and a damaged license plate. After pulling the vehicle over, the driver – Derek Freeman – was arrested for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.  

9:10 p.m. – (600 Main St) A Roslindale resident, who parked his car along Main Street called police to inform them that his side view mirror, along with his windshield were broken.
