Police Log: Taxi Fare Goes Unpaid

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 12, 1:28 a.m. – A taxi driver picked up an Everett man at the Malden T stop. The man asked the driver to take him to Arlington. As the driver was driving through Winchester, the passenger asked how much the fare was going to be.

At the time, the far was $39.20. The man asked the driver to pull over. He gave him $20 and his license and ran away.

Winchester Police were unable to locate the man.

5:34 p.m. – A Leslie Road resident told police he left his bicycle at the Wedgemere Station bike rack. When he returned, his bike was missing.
