Police Log: Three Arrests in Winchester this Past Week

This is an excerpt of the Winchester Police Log from Monday, August 30 through Wednesday, September 1.

Monday, August 30, 2:18 a.m. – Police arrived at the Town Pantry along Main Street where they met with a woman who had called the Winchester PD. She informed them that around midnight her boyfriend, Junior Grandoit, physically assaulted her. She said that he physically assaulted her in their home after getting into a fight and then told her to drive him back to his home in Somerville.

As the two were in the car, Grandoit supposedly slapped and punched his girlfriend numerous times. She told police that Grandoit was driving the car recklessly, hitting a traffic island and a pole along Main Street. When the car turned onto Mystic Valley Parkway, the woman told police that Grandoit said he did not care what happened to him and he would hit her if she didn't keep quiet.

She began to look for her cell phone to dial 9-1-1, but Grandoit pulled the car off, grabbed her cell phone and threw it to the ground. They continued the drive into Somerville where they drove to his apartment.

12:10 p.m. – Winchester police were patrolling South Border Road when they noticed a suspicious bike rider. When she passed the houses she would slow down to look around at the houses and the cars. The officer pulled Lisa Prosper aside to ask her some basic questions.

After being initially cooperative, the officer decided she was lying about some of her information – date of birth, social security number, middle initial. After the officer was able to decipher the truth, the Winchester PD informed the officer on the scene that there were warrants out for Prosper.

The son did not like the way the officer was treating his father. He said that the firefighter kept rolling his eyes when his father informed him of his ailments. The son also said that the firefighter told his father he was just using the Reading FD as a taxi service.

According to the fireman, he said that as soon as he entered the house, the son did not like how he was treating his father and made rude and insulting comments. The insulting comments apparently continued into the hospital and, according to the Reading fireman, after wheeling his father into the emergency room, the son got extremely mad and pushed the firefighter. The two then exchanged words and the son grabbed the firefighter's arm pulled him closer and put him in a headlock. The two wrestled around until security broke it up.
