Police Log: Vehicles Broken Into, Struck

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, August 19, 1:45 p.m. – An Ainsworth Road resident reported that someone struck her 2007 Mitsubishi sometime Thursday night while it was either parked in front of her home or on Forest Street. Her vehicle sustained minor front driver’s side damage, she said.

4:16 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident reported that someone stole 50 pills of his prescription Clonazepam sometime Thursday night from his convertible, which was parked at the Parkview Condo Complex.

4:31 p.m. – A Grove Street resident reported that someone stole $200 worth of tools from his pickup truck sometime in the last two days. He told police the theft could have also occurred while his truck was in Arlington.

4:45 p.m. – A Wakefield man was driving on Highland Avenue, near Highland Terrace, when a tree fell on the front hood and rooftop of his 2001 Ford. He was able to drive his vehicle home, according to police.

7 p.m. – A Cambridge Street resident reported that someone damaged the fence in front of his home sometime early Friday morning. The fence was either kicked in or struck by a vehicle, according to police.

11:47 p.m. – Police responded to Skillings Road, near the high school, for a report of a downed traffic light. Upon arrival, police found the destroyed light fixture spread out across 50 feet of roadway. Winchester and Woburn police were put on alert for a vehicle with heavy front end damage.

Saturday, August 20, 4:42 p.m. – A Main Street resident called police after a car parked in front of his backed into his, causing heavy front end damage. Nearby employees on Main Street witnessed the accident and were able to get the other driver’s license plate number. Police attempted to contact the other driver, who drove away after the collision, but were unsuccessful. Police were planning to send her a citation in the mail.

5:12 p.m. – A South Gateway resident reported that someone shot out the rear window of his 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a BB or pellat gun while it was parked at the corner of Main Street and Elmwood Avenue.
