Police Log: Weekend Arrest and Suspicious Woman Knocking on Door

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Friday, Feb. 4 to Monday, Feb. 7.

Saturday, Feb. 5, 2:59 a.m. – A Winchester resident called police when his neighbor and brother – Mathew Macinnes – came over to his side of the apartment and started swinging a bat and threatening him.

According to witnesses, they were all sitting around, when Mathew Macinnes and his girlfriend got into an argument and were asked to leave. Macinnes came back a few minutes later with a bat and started swinging it, smashing the kitchen and threatening the other people in the house.

When police arrived they arrested Matthew Macinnes for domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property ($250).

Sunday, Feb. 6, 4:26 a.m. – The Winchester Police were called to Church Street because a car had crashed into a snow bank. The officer was then advised to go to a house a long Cambridge Street. The owner of the home called police because she said a strange woman was knocking on her door.

The woman, who’s from Woburn, told police that she lived at this house. Then she said the she lived in Woburn, but no one was home. The officer noticed that the woman was intoxicated and took her into protective custody. She refused a breathalyzer and told the officer that she didn’t know how her car crashed into a snow bank.

10:39 a.m. –  A Winchester resident’s car was sideswiped while parked in the Aberjona Lot.

11:20 a.m. – While driving a front-end loader, along Main Street and through the rotary, a DPW driver misjudged the turn and struck a parked vehicle. The Toyota Rav-4 had minor damage to its bumper and rear headlight.
