Police Log: Woburn Man Accused of Drunk Driving After Accident

Woburn Man Accused of Drunk Driving After Accident

At 7:19 p.m. Feb. 7, Winchester Police responded to the intersection of Washington and Cross Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident. After making a left-hand turn onto Washington Street, a Jeep allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a minivan head-on, according to police. The operator of the Jeep allegedly failed multiple sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, according to police. Timothy Linn, 42, of 204 School St., Woburn, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, according to police.

Feb. 6

2:15 p.m.: Police responded to CVS on Main Street for a report of a lost or stolen packback. The caller reported their backpack, which contained two science binders, headphones and school paperwork, went missing after it was left near the entrance of the store because backpacks are not allowed in the store, according to police.

Feb. 7

12:50 p.m.: Police responded to Arlington Street on a report of a single-vehicle crash. The vehicle reportedly slid on snow-covered road and hit a town-owned tree on Arlington Street, according to police. The vehicle sustained moderate damage to passenger side bumper and wheelwell, as well as to the windshield, according to police. The vehicle was towed, according to police. No one was injured, according to police.

6 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of a two-vehicle crash. No tows or transports logged.

10:13 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Mount Vernon and Washington Streets on a report of a two-vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged.

Feb. 8

11:58 a.m.: Police called to Mount Vernon Street on a report of a hit-and-run accident with property damage. No injuries reported. Police filed a report.

3 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Park and Highland Avenues for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A street sign was knocked over, according to police, and both parties had left the accident scene, according to police.

Feb. 9

9:46 a.m.: Police called to the intersection of Kenwin Road and Washington Street for a report of a hit-and-run accident with property damage and no injuries. A report was taken.

1:47 p.m.: Police responded to the area of James and Henry Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident. A vehicle's operator reported seeing a Winchester DPW backhoe backing up, honked their horn but the backhoe still backed into the vehicle, causing extensive damage to the top right headlight and hood, according to police. No one was injured during the incident, according to police.
