Police Log: Woman Doesn't Remember Car Accident and Man Arrested with Brass Knuckles

This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Monday, Feb. 7 to Friday, Feb. 11.

Monday, Feb. 7, 8:03 a.m. – An Everett woman was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Washington St. and Mount Vernon Street. After being stopped for about 20 seconds, another vehicle, driven by a Winchester resident, crashed right into her. The woman in the second vehicle said she doesn’t remember what happened. Paramedics at the scene said she could have had a seizure. All she remembers is driving along Washington Street and then she remembers the paramedics pulling her out of the vehicle.

Wednesday, Feb. 9, 6:34 p.m. – The Winchester Police pulled over a White Honda Civic that was driving erratically along Lake Street. The car was driving 10 mph when the speed limit is 30. There were approximately 10 cars following closely behind. The officer pulled over the Civic and the Winchester driver – Darby Vansbuskirk – was arrested for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

Thursday, Feb. 10, 6:34 p.m. –  A Winchester officer pulled a blue Chevy S10 over for having a defective exhaust system, as well as having snow blocking its license plate. When the office approached the vehicle he noticed a smell of marijuana. He asked the driver – Bryan Gosselin of Woburn – if he had any on him. According to the police report, Gosselin said, “No, I don’t, there was some earlier, it might be my clothes, go ahead and search the car.”

The officer frisked Gosselin and found a bag of marijuana, brass knuckles, a brown vile with a white powdery substance and a folding knife. The officer also found a bat with electrical tape around it in the car.

Gosselin was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon and received a citation for the marijuana.
