Police Logs for April 25 and 26

Information supplied by the Winchester PD. These do not indicate conviction.

Wednesday, April 25

6:23 a.m.: What started as a vandalism to motor vehicle call turned out to be much more. Three cars were parked in the driveway of a Woodside Road residence: a 2007 BMW, a 1998 Cadillac Seville and a 2004 Audi had each been entered by unwelcomed parties. The BMW had $30 in change taken. There was evidence that the Cadillac had been entered, but nothing taken. The Audi had nothing taken from it, but the steering column was broken in half, indicating that someone tried to steal the car. Resident heard loud banging or hammering at 11:30 p.m. the night before but assumed it was neighbors working on their house. It now appears that this is when the attempted larceny took place. Investigation is ongoing.

8:50 a.m.: A Wildwood Street resident went to drive the children to school when they noticed significant damage to the steering column of the 2010 Honda Odyssey in the driveway. The ignition was popped out and part of the steering column was broken and hanging down. Nothing seems to have been taken, as the spare change and GPS system were untouched. Investigation is ongoing.

11:01 a.m.: Report of a sick fox laying on the top step of a porch on a Royal Street hom. Fox was put down and DPW was called in to the scene to clean up.
