Police Logs for Spet. 9 to Sept. 11

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department.

5:35 p.m., September 9: Police responded to a car accident on Cambridge Street. A vehicle pulled out the driveway of Mahoney’s Garden. The driver signaled for another car to go ahead, but there was heavy traffic and the other vehicle could not go. The first car then pulled out onto Cambridge Street as the other car turned and collided with the first car.

5:45 p.m., September 9: A truck was traveling on Main Street and attempted to turn left onto Swanson Street when it collided with a vehicle heading north on Main Street. The operator of the truck stated that the northbound car ran a red light. The car operator said that they went through a green light when the struck them.

8:06 a.m., September 11: A Ford van was traveling southbound on Loring Avenue when they stopped to let a pedestrian cross. At this point, they were rear ended by a Toyota.

8:50 a.m., September 11: The operator looked right and left before entering the intersection of Cabot and Warren Street. But they did not look back to the left and headed into the intersection and an oncoming car could not avoid the crash. The driver of the first car was cited for not yielding for oncoming traffic.

10:30 a.m., September 11: A Lincoln failed to yield at a stop sign while turning left onto Cambridge Street and struck the front end of a vehicle traveling northbound on Cambridge Street. Both vehicles were towed and the owner of the Lincoln was cited for failure to yield.

5:01 a.m., September 11: The owner of a Vespa Moped came into the station to report that they had parked in the lot of 200 Swanson Street on September 9 and when they returned, it was gone.

11:32 a.m., September 11: Officers responded to a report of a hit and run on Swanson Street. The driver’s side window of a Honda Accord was smashed. Officers told the driver that they were parked too close to the corner.
