Police Logs: iPhone, Bathtub Stolen

The following information is supplied by the Winchester Police Department. These do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

3:31 p.m.: A woman reported her cell phone stolen while working at last week’s sports camp at . The instructors piled their bags near the track. The woman said when she returned to her bag, she realized her iPhone was missing and someone had gone through her belongings. No other contents were missing.

4:08 p.m.: A claw foot bathtub was reported stolen from a house on Fairfield Place. The tub was placed outside of the home and used as a holding pond for pet turtles. The complainant said she was upset because she wanted to scrap the cast iron tub for pocket change.

8:06 p.m.: A Winchester resident reported telephone fraud after a person claiming to be with her insurance company requested personal information. The caller said the woman needed a new insurance card. The woman gave the caller her name, address and bank routing and checking numbers. She told police she realized it was a mistake once she hung up.

3:48 p.m.: Vandalism was reported to a parked car on Grayson Road. There was a deep scratch from the front fender down both passenger doors, according to the report.
