Police: Multiple Car Accidents in Town

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department.

Nov. 17  

1:40 p.m.: A driver was distracted by their cellphone, crossed the yellow line and crashed into a stone wall on Beacon Street. The driver was issued a citation for impeded operation and failure to stay in marked lanes.  

Nov. 18  

11:01 a.m.: A vehicle traveling north on Loring Avenue struck the rear end of a trailer.  

2:25 p.m.: A car was turning left from Westerly Road onto Washington Street when another car hit them. That vehicle swerved and hit the curb on the corner of Washington Street. As the first car was getting back into its lane, a third car hit it head on.  

5:09 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of credit card fraud on Sherwood Road. The caller said that her and her husband’s bank accounts had been compromised. The card had been fraudulently used in Brooklyn, New York. The officer told the couple to contact their credit bureaus to ensure that their credit would not be affected.
