Police Search for Trio Accused of Breaking Into Vehicles

One suspect was apprehended while the two other could not be located, according to police.

Stoneham police were called to Benton Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress at approxiamtely 4:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug.22.

The caller reported three kids in all black clothing checking motor vehicles parked in the street, according to police reports.

Officers apprehended one of the suspects who confirmed he and the two others were breaking into vehicles, according to police.

Police then broadcasted over area wide stations for a K9 unit, and State Police K9 unit responded. Winchester police dispatched an officer to Marble Street at Park Street, while Woburn police responded to Montvale Avenue at Maple Street.

The two other suspects could not be located.

A summons was sought for the individual taken into custody.
