Police: Van Vandalized on Grove Street in Winchester

At 8:45 a.m. July 21, Winchester police responded to Grove Street on a report of vehicle vandalism, according to a police report. The caller told police that sometime overnight the rear hatchback window and also the driver's side sliding door window of her 2006 Kia Sedona van were shattered; however, nothing appeared to be missing from the van, according to the report. The damage appeared to be done by BB pellets, as there was half a BB pellet mark on the rear window, according to the report. 

July 20
9:15 p.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bacon and Church Streets for an improper passing violation, according to a police report. While approaching the Mercedes, police observed a 12-pack of Miller High Life 12-ounce cans in the vehicle, asked the driver to turn off the vehicle and then exit it and sit on the curb along with his female passenger, according to the report. Police also found a liter of Smirnoff Vodka, a 750 milliliter bottle of Burnett's Pineapple Vodka and a 12-pack of Bud Light Platinum in the vehicle, according to the report. While searching the vehicle, police recovered a fake Connecticut license in the center console and the driver said he had used it to purchase alcohol, according to the report. Police told the driver, a 19-year-old Winchester man, that he would receive a summons for being a minor in possession/transporting alcohol and for using a false license to purchase alcohol, as well as a $100 civil citation, the report adds. 
July 21

1:03 p.m.: Police responded to Wedgemere Station for a report of a possible larceny from a vehicle, according to a police report. The woman could not determine whether anything was stolen from the ransacked Honda, the report adds. 

6:25 p.m.: Police worked a detail at the Middlesex Fells Reservation and issued three citations for people or dogs trespassing in the town's water supply, according to a police report. 
July 226 p.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a 2008 Subaru Outback that went off the road and struck a fire hydrant, according to a police report. The driver claimed another vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed behind him, and he became distracted, went off the roadway and hit the hydrant, according to the report. The hydrant did not sustain any damage, according to the report. No tows or transports reported.
