Teen Cited for Allegedly Being in Possession of Marijuana, Alcohol
At 11:08 p.m. Aug. 2, Winchester police responded to Shore Road near the Griffin Museum to check on a group of teens parked near the museum, according to a police report. As police approached a parked Toyota, they reportedly detected an odor of marijuana. When the driver opened the window, police also detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to the report. Police asked the occupants to sit on a curb while they conducted a search of the vehicle, according to the report. Police discovered in plain view inside an unzipped yellow backpack items associated with marijuana use, including glass pipes and a grinder, the report ads. A bottle of vodka was also found in the car, according to the log. Police cited the 18-year-old Winchester man for being a minor in possession of alcohol, as well as for being in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, according to the report.
