Trio Arraigned in 2007 Saugus Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident

Two Winchester residents and a Revere woman accused of covering up their involvement in a fatal accident in Saugus in 2007 pleaded not guilty during their respective arraignments Monday in a Salem Court, according to the Boston Globe.

Two Winchester residents and a Revere woman accused of covering up their involvement in a fatal accident in Saugus in 2007 pleaded not guilty during their respective arraignments Monday in a Salem Court, according to the Boston Globe.

Michael Tranchita Jr., 33, of Winchester, was arraigned in Essex Superior Court, along with his father, Michael Tranchita Sr., 55, who is also facing charges that include conspiracy and misleading an investigator, according to the Globe. A third person, Lisa Cutting, 39, of Revere, is also facing those charges, as well as a charge of being an accessory after the fact, reads the Globe report. 

Two people were killed in the Saugus accident six years ago. Tina Tello, 33, of Stoneham, a mother of two, and Christopher Zullo, 28, of Everett, reads the Globe report. They were trying to cross busy Route 1 near Essex Street when they were struck, the Globe reported.

All three were released on personal recognizance and are expected to return to court in April, according to the Globe.
