Vehicle Vandalized on Church Street

At 8:13 a.m. April 3, Winchester Police responded to Church Street on a report of motor vehicle vandalism and a larceny from the vehicle. The passenger's side window was smashed and about $20 was stolen from the vehicle, according to a police report. A white pillow was found on the ground next to the vehicle and may have been used to silence the sound of the glass breaking, according to the report.

Electronics Stolen From Unlocked Vehicle

At 9:18 a.m. April 5, police responded to Yale Street for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. The suspect(s) gained access to the vehicle through an unlocked passenger's side door and stole a green canvass shoulder bag containing a Dell 1600 laptop computer, MacBook Air laptop, Bluetooth headset, battery charger, an iPad and M.R.I. results, according to the report.

April 1

9:07 a.m.: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident with no tows or transports. A report was taken.

April 2

1:46 a.m.: A black Ford pickup truck known to police was parked in a parking space on Shore Road, according to a police report. The vehicle is known to have received thousands of dollars worth of parking tickets over the years that are unpaid, according to the report. Police discovered that the vehicle's registration had expired, and it was towed from the scene, according to the report. The plates were taken into police custody and tagged, according to the report. The vehicle's owner told police that he planned to pay off the previous parking tickets, according to the report. The man allegedly has a history of circumventing the system the registry has in place which allows him to continue registering vehicles despite having excessive ammounts of parking tickets issued to his license plates, according to the report. 

11:35 a.m.: Police observed a black Nissan Maxima parked on Vine Street that had been parked at the same location for the past couple of months, according to a police report. The vehicle had been given multiple parking tickets for being parked in the wrong direction and interfering with snow removal during previous snowstorms, according to the report. The vehicle was towed after police discovered it had an expired registration, and the vehicle's owner, a 34-year-old Winchester man, would be cited for allowing an unregistered motor vehicle to remain on a public way, according to the report. 

9:41 p.m.: Police responded to Washington Street for a report of a severly injured possum in the nortbound lane. The possum was euthanized, according to the report. 

April 3

6:45 a.m.: Police called to the intersection of Washington and Mount Vernon Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident with no tows or transports. A report was taken.

4:45 p.m.: Police called to the intersection of Richardson and Rumford Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident with one tow and no transports. A report was taken.

April 4

11:16 a.m.: Police discovered a black Chevy pickup truck with an expired registration and an expired registration sticker parked in the Winchester High School parking lot, according to a police report. The truck was towed and a citation was issued to Kendall Relocating Corp., which owned the vehicle, for allowing an unregistered motor vehicle to remain on town property, according to the report. A 48-year-old Winchester man was cited for having an expired inspection sticker, according to the report. The plates were removed the truck, but were later given back to the vehicle's owner after he re-registered the vehicle and paid outstanding tickets, according to the report.
